1.Consultation(10–15minutes)
•Discuss client’s hair history(previous coloring, treatments, etc.)
•Understand client’s desired result (shade, technique: balayage, global, highlights, etc.)
•Analyze hair condition(porosity, texture, current color level)
• Perform a strand test or patch test if needed
• Finalize color formulation and technique
2.Pre-ColorPrep(5–10minutes)
•Drape client properly and apply protective barriers
•Detangle and section the hair for easier application
•Apply scalp protect or barrier cream(if needed)
•Mix the color and developer in proper ratio based on hair type and desired out come
3.Colour Application (30–60minutes)
Time varies depending on technique and hair length
• Section hair appropriately(usually in 4 to 6parts)
•Apply color from roots to ends, or based on the desired technique:
•Global color: full hair coverage
•Root touch- up: only roots
•Highlights/Balayage: specific strands with foils or freehand
• Ensure even saturation and clean sectioning
•Re-check the application for missed spots
4.Processing Time (30–45minutes)
•Allow the color to process as per manufacturer guidelines
•Cover with a processing cap if needed
•Monitor hair closely to avoid over-processing
•Offer client a beverage or magazine during wait time
5.Rinse & Cleanse (10–15minutes)
•Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until water runs clear
•Use color-safe shampoo and conditioner
•Optional: Apply a post-color treatment or mask to lock in color and add shine
6.Toning or Color Correction (Optional-10–20minutes)
• If needed, apply a toner to neutralize unwanted tones (brassy/yellow etc.)
•Use gloss or shine treatment for added luster
•Rinse and condition again as required
7.Blow Dry & Styling (20–30minutes)
• Towel dry and apply heat protectant or styling products
•Blow dry using round brush or as per client’s styling preference
• Style the hair(straighten, curl, or leave natural)
8.After care Advice & Product Recommendation (5–10minutes)
• Educate client on maintaining color at home
•Recommend color-protect shampoo, conditioner, and heat protectants
•Discuss follow-up or maintenance appointments (usually every4–6weeks)
•Offer take-home care kits if available
